My name is Melissa Egan and I am a Creative Director, Graphic Designer and Illustrator. I have over 16 years of design and marketing experience at both agency and in-house design, as well as environmental design for Anthropologie. I've lived in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado and Oregon, but have found a home in Chicago with my husband, two sons and one little pug. Most of my free time is spent playing Star Wars with the boys, cooking, watching b-movies, and helping my husband collect Top Gun VHS (we have over 500!).
I believe the right combination of strategy, instinct, and imagination produces an innovative and effective design solution, no matter the client, no matter the medium. Exceeding the expectations of a client is the most rewarding part of being a creative. I believe every project has the potential to engage and surprise both the client and the consumer.
In addition to marketing, I also design and illustrate stationery. My cards are available nationwide at Target, Barnes & Noble, Pottery Barn Kids and TJ Maxx, and my work has been featured in Martha Stewart Living, Seventeen Magazine, Sunset Magazine, Vougue.com, Stationery Trends Magazine, Makeup.com, the 2017, 2015 and 2013 Louie Awards, Pregnancy and Newborn Magazine, The Portland Egoist, Style Me Pretty, and “The Best Photo Cards” Ebook by Dasha Wagner.
